My roommates and I went to Claire's FHE yesterday. Claire and I skipped out and went to Hires Big-H. She of course wanted to know the drama about me and Andrea. I shared with her the whole sordid tale.I was reminded again how awesome Claire was... how she made me feel like I was the only important thing in her whole world. It almost made me forget about her making me listen to her and Adam swap spit in the back of that pick-up a couple of weeks ago.... almost.
"So what are you going to do?", was Claire's first question after I finished the Andrea story.
I had had the weekend to think about it and make a decision.
I said, "I'm going to wait a month before I call her." Claire said, "A whole month? You said yourself you've wondered if she realized she loved you and not this other guy?" I replied, "Yeah." She said, "If that's true, why wait? Don't you want to know right now?" I told her, "Yeah, I've thought about that a lot, but canceling a wedding is a pretty big deal. The chances it had anything to do with me are a slim, I think. But either way, it seems like she'll need some time to sort stuff out in her head. Don't you think you would need time?" Claire nodded her head and smiled. "You have a talent for putting yourself in other peoples shoes." Andrea actually taught me that, but I didn't tell Claire.
I started to feel a little choked up so I lightly said, "What's new in your love life?" Claire said, "Me and Adam broke up." I rolled my eyes and said, "Again?" She glared a little and said, "It's for real this time." I said, "Tough week to be an Adam..." She smiled.
We shared a milkshake and talked until Hires closed up shop. Claire did a good job of convincing me that she was absolutely done with Adam this time around.
Both these girls, Andrea and Claire, who have had such a profound effect have recently become available... as I thought about that, the line from Alice in Wonderland, "Curiouser and Curiouser."

Ahhh Jake this is so crazy, both of the women you have wanted are now both available,crazy crazy stuff. But I am happy that you've decided to give Andrea a month before you call her. But my only question is, what are you going to do in the mean time during this month while your waiting? See if you have a shot with Claire?

I vote that you go for Claire. Andrea sounds awesome, but I think Claire sounds like fun!
Soo does this mean Sanders is going to call you next and tell you that she wants to be with you?
Andrea's not available yet. Claire is. We vote you go swap some spit with her and find out if she's really what you want. We figure by that time, Andrea will be available and she may come to you. Risky, not really. Worth it, probably.

Make sure you call them the right name when swapping spit. I would hate for you to moan "oh Andrea" when you are with Claire. Keep it straight bro.
I sort of agree with TheSinglesWard, you don't know what Andrea's deal is, why she canceled the wedding. So I would start to go out with Claire, just dates. No kissing, just getting to know each other. If Andrea did call off the wedding because she is in love with you, it would be unfair to her if you started dating someone else. It would be unfair to Claire to start dating like bf/gf, because she deserves your undeserved attention, which you can't reasonably give if Andrea calls wanting you back or whatever may happen.
Tread carefully.

Knowing you Jake, you will just make a mess of things. You will start to date Claire, forget about Andrea, and then Andrea will show up and hurt both the girls.
